Chinese airlines have provided safety videos in their national Sign Language for many years; they are one of the first countries to do so. The safety videos play at the same time as the flight attendant gesturing the captain’s announcements and safety instructions.

More and more of the Chinese flight attendants are being trained in Chinese Sign Language to continue providing equal access to their deaf customers, especially if there is a group of deaf Chinese flying the same airline.

This particular video is of an Air China flight attendant, although other Chinese airlines such as Eastern Airlines have been known to provide Sign Language for their deaf fliers.
