Did you know that Savage Garden featured ASL in their music video “Crash and Burn” in 1999?

Savage Garden, a popular music group from the late 1990s, made a music video about how technology was/is affecting communication and how we interact now after exposure to the internet.

This song was written at the time when chat programs like MSN Chat and AIM were increasing in popularity and less people were talking to each other on the phone or face to face and how this can be isolating people. The video shows many different faces and scenarios before the final scene, which is the lead singer Darren Hayes signing the point of the song: you are not alone.
